Fabulous Friday - Is it Spring yet?!

Happy Friday everyone!  The answer to the title question - Nope!  Not here in Canada anyways :-)

We are struggling to get Spring going, with temperatures warming up one day, then bitter cold the next!

Polkadoodles Challenges are now Always Anything Goes, so why not come along and enter.

Thinking of Spring always makes me think of wonderful pastel colours and pretty flowers.  For my card this week I have used the adorable Helga Hippo collection and one of the Design Sheets from this.

I added some depth to the card by placing some elements on foam tape. This Design sheet can also be purchase as a set of 2 to download, Helga Hippo Design Sheet 3 Duo Download.

For the inside of the card, I added a message panel and cut using the Polkadoodles Elegant Nesting Dies, the middle size.  My card is just 4" by 4" as I am making set of them to go in a gift box :-)

The small bottom flower, flower on her head and the teeny tiny butterfly have had some Glossy Accents added.

All the edges of all the layers have been inked.  I love using the pre-coloured elements and with the Design sheets you have everything you need to make a delightful card.

I am entering this card in the following challenges.

Crafting From the Heart - Challenge #151: Always Anything Goes (closes 26 Mar)

Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge Blog - Challenge #321: Anything Goes (closes 28 Mar)

Fabulous Friday - Good Luck Vet :-)

Hi there everyone.

Oh I have had a lovely few days.  I went on a road trip last Sunday to go and see my, eldest daughter, Shannon in college. It's a 6 hour drive, but very scenic and I loved seeing Shannon.  I came back late on Thursday, although my original day was meant to be Wednesday.  There was a snow storm back home - so too dangerous on the roads.  Ah well, more Mother/Daughter time :-)

Polkadoodles challenges are now always Anything Goes, so why not come along and enter.

Shannon is just finishing her first year in college to be a Veterinary Technician and that is the reason for this card this week.  I wanted to wish her good luck with her Second Semester exams.

I couldn't resist using the vet from the wonderful Work & Play 12 collection.  You can also get this as a Mini Vet/Dog Groomer/Cat Groomer Bundle or just as the single design sheet too :-)

I love all the little paw prints and elements you get in this Design Sheet, as well as the great sentiments!

I use one extra paper, which I printed from the Mini Bundle, to put behind the other bits and pieces.  I love making a Z fold card, and don't make them often enough :-)

For the inside message panel, I printed another paper from the Mini Bundle and then used the largest of the Polkadoodles Elegant Nesting Dies.  And added some of the left over embellishments from the Design Sheet.

Added a little dimension, to the front, with some foam tape under some of the embellishments and main image.  All the edges of all the layers have been inked too.

Shannon loved the card, as this has been her dream since she was 8 years old - another 2 years of college and she'll be out in the big wide world :-)

I am entering this card in the following challenges.

Allsorts Challenge Blog - Challenge #406: Ladies and Girls (closes 17 March)

Crafty Sentiments Designs - Challenge: Any Shape (closes 20 March)

Crafting From the Heart - Challenge #150: Always Anything Goes (closes 19 March)

Thanks so much for stopping by today - I will be around to catch up with you all this weekend!

Happy crafting.

Fabulous Friday - Helga Hippo Gift Box

Well hello there!  Happy Friday everyone :-)

All Polkadoodles challenges are now Anything Goes so why not come along and enter.

My make for this week is a card gift box, using this tutorial on my blog HERE.

I have used the delightful Polkadoodles Helga Hippo collection, and one of the wonderful Design Sheets from the collection and some of the fabulous papers to cover the box.

I inked all the edges of all the layers and added a little bow to the umbrella.

I have added a little depth to the front by popping the embellishments on some foam tape.

All these elements on the card and the stopper are in Design Sheet 2-02 in the collection, or you can also buy it as part of the Duo of Design Sheets #7.

I am in the process of making six 4" by 4" cards and envelopes to go inside the gift box.

I would like to enter this gift box in the following challenges.

Hope you are all having a great day and looking forward to the weekend.

Our challenges over at Polkadoodles are now, always, Anything Goes.  So why not pop along and enter you could win $10 to spend in the Polkadoodles download store.

I have used the wonderful Winnie in Wonderland Collection for my hubby's Valentines card. Couldn't resist adding the Eat Me sentiment :-)

All the pieces for this card can be found on Design Sheet 7 in the collection.  You can buy just the Design Sheet on it's own too :-)

For the bottom layer of the front and the inside of the card, I pulled out two papers from the collection that had already been printed from another project.  I couldn't resist using the fabulous Polkadoodles Elegant Nesting die (this is the middle size of three in the set).  And two hearts left over from the Design sheet.

As always, all the edges of all the layers have been inked.

I add some foam tape to some of the layers to add a little dimension to the card.

'Tis Tuesday - Tutorial (Video) - Using Polkadoodles Collections and Silhouette Design Studio

Hi everyone.  Hope you are all well and busy crafting bees :-)

So, I finally got around to doing something that I have been meaning to do for ages!

I have wanted to do some video tutorials combining the Polkadoodles Collections, how I create and how I use Silhouette Design Studio and the Cameo for my crafting.

My first recording has gone live!  Using the Polkadoodles Design Sheets in Silhouette Design Studio.

You can view it on Youtube if you prefer, or you can watch it here on my blog :-)

I used Winnie Sugar Sprinkle Design Sheet 2 and Winnie in Wonderland Design Sheet 3 in the tutorial.

The other day I downloaded OBS Studio (Open Broadcaster Software) and had a little play.  It is really easy to use and there are a few tutorials out there to get the initial set up done.  I only want to use it for recording my screen in Silhouette Design Studio, so there was nothing to in depth about it :-)

I hope that you understand and if there are any questions, please leave them in the comment section, or you can email me (if you click on View my Profile there is a link on the left). Also, if there is something you would like me to do a tutorial about let me know :-)

I will also try and do some tutorials of how I design and create my cards using Silhouette Design Studio - from start to finish :-)

Hope that you enjoyed the first tutorial.  Please excuse the Welsh accent - it really stands out on recordings LOL!

You can pop along to our Polkadoodles Digi Choosday blog and enter our weekly challenges, there might even be a discount code (valid today only) there for you to buy some digi's :-)

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

Happy crafting.
